On Sunday, I’m celebrating having survived another year on this spinning ball in the depths of the cosmos. For me, it’s a particularly meaningful milestone; sevens hold special meaning, and I’ll be turning 57 on the 7th. I was born in 1967, married in 1987 . . . and my mom was born on 7/17. :)
(Did you know, incidentally, how special 7 is?
In numerology, 7 is a symbol of mystery, knowledge, and intuition.
In Pythagorean numerology, 7 represents spirituality.
7 is considered lucky because it's a prime number.
Shakespeare wrote about the seven ages of man.
In China, 7 determines the stages of female life.
In medieval education, the liberal arts were seven subjects, including grammar, rhetoric, logic, music, arithmetic, geometry, and astronomy.
The number 7 serves as a bridge or a connection between our mortal realm and higher places.
The number 7 is a number of intuition, spirituality, mysticism, spiritual enlightenment, inner wisdom and strength, and psychic abilities.)
I think our birthdays are a better time to mark a new year than the turning of the calendar year; after all, January 1st is for everyone, while our birthdays our uniquely our own.
Also, for what it’s worth, I like the fresh new feeling of April and springtime more than I do chilly and gray winter. Even in Florida.
As I’ve shared here over the past month, I’m taking this birthday opportunity to blow up everything I’ve done in my publishing career and rebrand ALL the things.
I can’t wait to tell you. And show you! My tagline is so fun, my new colors are right on point, and my logo is <chef’s kiss> perfection.
I couldn’t have done any of this without the help of my dear friend Olivia Hardin, my right-hand assistant Kelly Greer, my Mastermind team Lisa, Mel, and Violet, and the ever-awesome Kevin Tumlinson, who is a branding genius and consulted on this rebranding project.
I’ll be sharing it all beginning on Sunday, April 7th.
Stay tuned!
But meanwhile . . .

Last year when I released Second Shot, I gave the main character (who happened to be the younger sister of Kyra, aka The Anti-Cinderella) a nom de plume under which she wrote her steamy romances: Amelia Bliss.
I loved the name and the idea of her books so much that I decided to publish them myself, as Amelia!
The first two are out now. They’re in KU, so you can read them for free!
After my long-time boyfriend cheats on me, I'm not interested in revenge . . . and I'm not interested in a new love, either.
Until I meet someone who feels like the perfect sexy rebound . . . a man who can rock my world without hurting my heart.
It all happens with the hot guy . . .
It Happened With The Next Door Guy
The baseball player who moved in next door is the most annoying guy I've ever met. Until one night when he drives me crazy in a whole new way . . .
The sexy dude who just moved into the house next to mine is seriously the most irritating man in the world. I think he's actually trying to annoy me, especially when he throws a loud party the night before my big calculus test, which leads to me storming over there . . .which leads to the biggest shocker yet.
It all happens with the next door guy . . .
My dear under-the-rock bestie released this gem earlier this week! I loved this couple, this story, and this entire series on the Bayou. Go fall in love in with Annie and Tim—for real!
It was just a childhood promise that somehow turned into a pretend relationship. But suddenly, our fake love is feeling like the real deal . . .
This one time at church camp, Tim Chaney and I made a promise. If neither of us was married by the time we turned twenty-five, then we’d marry each other. But deep down, I wasn't worried. I knew I was going to marry Brent Faulkner one day. So when I find out Brent’s about to get hitched to someone else, I decide Tim is the person to help a girl out. There’s only one problem… he thought our long-ago agreement was for real.
I've been smitten with Annie Broussard since the moment I met her. We were just fourteen, but I knew the spunky, smart--if a teeny bit awkward--redhead was all I'd ever want. That feeling only got stronger because Annie grew up to be a beautiful woman. The only trouble is, she doesn't have eyes for me. When Annie reaches out to me in a last-ditch effort to snag the man of her dreams, I find a fresh swell of determination... and that childhood promise is my ace in the hole.
Dip your toes into the ocean waters of Simoneaux Bayou and let the warm sands and wild waves carry your soul to a place where love can always be found...
